What is Quitline?
Quitline is the Guernsey service for people who want support and advice about stopping smoking.

Who will I talk to?
The Guernsey Quitline provides an answer phone service, and one of the trained specialist will return your call as soon as possible.

What will they tell me?
They will offer you friendly support and encouragement and will talk through practical ways to quit - this may include advice on how to beat cravings and information about stop smoking products. If you've stopped smoking in the past but started again the advisers at Guernsey Quitline can help you to succeed next time.

Who can call Quitline?
Anyone interested in stopping smoking or helping someone else to stop can call Quitline - including parents, friends, relatives, pregnant mothers, GPs and health professionals. You can even call back when you've stopped smoking to tell Quitline how you are doing.

Can we meet?
Yes. Drop in clinics, small groups or one-to-one sessions. Click here for details

What if I just want Information?
If you just want information, Quitline will be happy to send you a variety of literature which contains a wide range of materials to help you stop smoking. This website also contains a lot of useful information, use the links to browse the website. Or you can ask for more specialised information - e.g. If you are worried about putting on weight or about smoking in pregnancy.

Do You Want To Stop Smoking?

The "Stay Free - Break Free From Smoking" Campaign in Guernsey is here to help you take this most positive step to protect your health.

Stopping smoking is rather like learning to ride a bicycle. Some people can do it unaided, but many will benefit from a little support. Smoking Cessation support groups are available periodically in Guernsey. Contact Guernsey Quitline (233170) or the Health Promotion Unit (707311) for more details and information.

This website is full of information to take you through the stages in stopping smoking. It will help you think why you want to stop and to prepare to stop, actually stop smoking and then help you stay stopped. Use the links on the left hand side of your screen to allow you to browse through the site.

Whether you decide to try to stop smoking on your own, or join a group for support, you may well find that stopping smoking can be easier than you ever imagined it would be.
